European Ash - (fraxinus excelsior)
European Ash is a tough strong timber with a handsome figure. The timber is similar to Oak in strength and appearance and can be used as a substitute for that timber.
Its strength characteristics make it an ideal timber for the manufacture of tools and sporting equipment. European ash is particularly straight grained and ideal for these purposes
The wood is typically creamy white in colour although many logs have a dark brown or black heart.
We offer timber selected for white colour and also standard Ash where the colour ranges from white to dark brown.
We specialise in the supply of Ash for the making of furniture and have created a grade which we sell as First Quality specifically to meet the needs of furniture manufacturers .
